A Gilded Age Christmas

It's no secret the historic Gilded Age of America was full of beautifully handcrafted artistry in all aspects of modern life. From architecture to literature, fashion to fine art, the turn of 19th c. design produced a lasting treasure trove of inspiration for visual artists like myself. This month, I've been enjoying Old World Christmas traditions like Maine State Ballet's Nutcracker, and visiting historic, Victorian-Era Mansions in both Portland and Kennebunkport decorated for Christmas in all their vintage glory. These timeless Gilded Age treasures and traditions connect us to the golden light of a Christmas past but not forgotten. Below are just a few of my Gilded-Age/Vintage-Inspired creations over the years. I invite you to share them with your friends and family this Holiday Season.
